My Design Journey
While doing my bachelors in Visual Communication at Arizona State University, I have worked as a design intern for local and corporate businesses throughout the nation. During my tenure at Southern Glazer Wine and Spirits, “One of America’s Largest Private Companies” (Forbes Magazine), I developed my skills by collaborating with a team to design and print collateral for various establishments in Arizona. Last summer, I was in Chicago working for a local firm, NeigerDesign, a branding and strategic marketing agency. During my internship, I assisted the design team with blogging, social media, case studies, newsletters, marketing strategies for clients, and updated the Creative’s Guide to Evanston (on the website). Through this experience, I had the chance to gain real life knowledge in the design industry and working with local businesses. This past year, I have had a chance to work for the Luminosity Lab an interdisciplinary research and development lab driven by a hand-selected team of high-performing students from Arizona State University. At The Luminosity Lab, we design, build, and deploy novel solutions to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
My other experiences include being an Alumni Specialist for Tell-a-Devil, as part of the ASU Foundation Department, where I improved my communication skills and learned how to develop personal relationships with many students, parents, and alums. I also have background working as a Customer Service Agent for a small airline called Boutique Air which has given me a keen in site in the airline industry. In addition to these experiences, I also have played competitive tennis for Arizona State University. It is through my sport that taught me to work well under pressure, think fast and adapt to any situation.
I’m a self-motivated individual who strives to go above and beyond in all that I do. I enjoy new challenges and do not shy away from trying new things. My design work is then further bolstered by my love for photography and film. I love to travel and explore places, expanding my skillset and inspiring future design production. My design process is diverse, as I love to sketch, prototype, and develop designs, for both print and digital media. As a designer, my goal is taking over everything, from an idea and concept development to realization. I believe in traditions and incorporating them within the daily innovations that surround us.
